Lincoln Pop Punkers Amateur Ghost Share New Single ‘Star Spangled Banger’
Lincoln’s freshest pop-punk band Amateur Ghost have unveiled a brand new single today ‘Star Spangled Banner’. Check it out below.
Raised on the soundtracks of Tony Hawks Pro Skater games and the West Coast americana punk of groups like The Offspring, Blink 182 and Green Day it doesn’t take a rocket scientist to work out where Amateur Ghost get their kicks. However, their latest track produced by Lincoln engineer Sam Cook (Ducking Punches, Harker, The Capital) shows a stellar knack for melodies and perfectly channels their snotty brand of pop-punk, raging against injustice in a tongue in cheek fashion as it goes- and as all good punk bands should. Well done, chaps!
Commenting on the song, drummer Alan Stuart said: “I guess t’s just our reaction against the Trump administration, that feeling where you lean back and think to yourself ‘what on earth are you doing?’ We can all relate, there’s a lot of stupid people in the world, and Trump is the figurehead”.
If you like what you hear you can catch Amateur Ghost at The Jolly Brewer on 30th November and on Friday 13th December at The West End Tap where they’ll be performing as The Offspring for Badlands ‘Stickin In Their Eyes’ charity night. Find out more on that here.
