BIRMINGHAM’S COAST TO COAST ANNOUNCE NEW EP ‘SOVEREIGN’
One ray of light in these dark times is that the good music just keeps on coming. Brummie based emo-rock band COAST TO COAST are the latest band to forge ahead with a new release coming our way very soon. The band are streaming a new music video today for a stripped-back acoustic led track titled ‘Sovereign’. It is the lead single of their EP of the same name, due out 24th April 2020 through Fox Records. Watch below!
Formed in 2016, Coast To Coast have released three EP’s to-date in ‘Dwell’ (2016), ‘The Length of a Smile’ (2017) and ‘The World Doesn’t Work’ (2018) championed by the likes of BBC Radio 1’s The Rock Show (Daniel P. Carter), Rock Sound, New Noise Magazine, Alternative Press and Punktastic.
Sharing stages with the likes of Light Years, Boston Manor and As It Is, as well as European dates supporting Can’t Swim, the band has quickly become a “people’s favourite” of the UK’s underground scene for their heartfelt and honest anthems.
Commenting on the meaning behind ‘Sovereign’, vocalist Keiran Hyland explains: “It’s about how you see other people being so naturally positive and social, hence the lyrics, “the words roll from your tongue I came to ask you, tell me what it’s like on the other side”. It’s about feeling as if you’re missing out on what other people are doing because of your own struggles and problems. The song title, Sovereign, comes from the line, “thought you were sovereign now you can’t find your crown”. Referring to when I was younger I thought I had my life set out and had a lot going for me now I feel a bit hopeless.”
Title track ‘Sovereign’ is available to stream now through all good digital services. ‘Sovereign’ EP is out on 24th April 2020 through Fox Records.
